October Round Up – Lifestyle Photographer, York

So October was, as expected, a particularly quiet month. I’d purposely refrained from booking too many sessions following our wedding in September as I wasn’t sure whether I would be up to being busy straight after all the wedding planning. Turns out I should have booked more…

FREE CHRISTMAS SESSIONS

I decided to introduce a few freebie photo sessions when I unexpectedly found that I had 4 days which I could shoot sessions during the week (click here). There is now just one session left so if you’re interested get in touch. It also includes Maternity – so if you’re expecting your little one before Christmas feel free to get in touch.

WEDDINGS

I booked two more weddings for 2012 in October. I’m trying to limit the number of weddings I do next year to just 1 per month. As you may remember, I currently do most of my photography work on weekends as I work full time (a mortgage and a need for holidays require it), so its only fair that I still make time for my family. So if you’re interested in further information and availability for weddings get in touch as soon as possible to secure your date.

STYLE GUIDE

A regular feature called “style Guide” has been reinstated on the blog, it’s proving very popular as its so difficult to decide what to wear for photoshoots! I’m hoping to provide at least one new style guide per month for various types of photo sessions.

SWPP

I am now a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers and look forward to all the benefits that will bring. Its important to me as a self studied photographer to demonstrate my professionalism and eventually go for accreditation.

LOVE IN

October was officially the month of the slow cooker, Nails Inc and brown boots at The Grange. Read more here.

THE WEBSITE

The website got a new look this month and hopefully its much easier to navigate now. I’ve also started a new section called “The Grange” which is basically where I record my personal photography projects, my thoughts and generally what’s going on in my life at The Grange (its where I live). Look out for next months highlights when I try photographing fireworks, and try a new project with fairy lights and newborns.

So that was October, November is going to be even better, I’m looking forward to the Christmas sessions which start this Friday, a winter fashion shoot for Priority K, and the usual shoots and personal projects. Wish me luck this Saturday night (Bonfire night) as I attempt a little night time photography and try and catch some amazing fireworks shots!
