Do any the following statements describe your life?
- I look fantastic in photos and never feel the need to hide my spare tyre(s)
- My children are perfect angels & never say anything inappropriate or pull weird faces.
- My house is always neat and tidy and the laundry is always done. Including ironing.
- I always print off all photos from my digital camera and then catalogue them into special family albums.
- My husband/boyfriend/partner always acknowledges that his work and his time are just as important as mine.
- I have never accidentally spoken to my husband in the same tone I use to remind the dog to stay OFF of the couch. NOW.
- I am well rested and as bright as a button.
- I never drink wine/beer or snack on Pringles because I just can’t be bothered to cook.
- I am always organised enough to carry a camera for those important firsts (1st day at school, 1st birthday, 1st tooth)
- I do not forget birthdays.
- My family is so photogenic that we could use a disposable camera and still look fantastic
If the above pretty much describes your life, and your attitude to photography, please do the following:
Thank your lucky stars, you are an inspiration (to me anyway)
If however, you experience the (completely understandable) urge to laugh out loud at the thought of standing in front a photographer, and while you look through yet another photography portfolio full of gorgeous models, (mentally holding in your stomach) you worry that your child will do or say something ridiculous (and probably be covered in snot in the photos) – stay for a while. I like you already.
My style of photography is just right for people who love their families & want some up-to-date photos showing the real them, but sometimes wonder:
- Is life supposed to be this hard?
- Should I be more organised?
- What on earth is that smell?
- Does every child have a constant stream of snot attached to them from birth?
- If we ignore it, will it go away?
